Our training room is designed to provide the perfect environment for learning and honing your sewing skills.
Set up with sewing at the forefront of its design, it's the ideal place to explore your new skill.
Features and Benefits
Our training room features a standing height cutting table, 1m20cm wide and 2m10cm long, allowing for easy fabric preparation and cutting.
Its ideal when adjusting patterns, or laying out your pattern pieces to prep them before sewing.
At the end of the cutting Desk there are various rulers, fashion curves, scissors and cutters, fabric markers, things you won't always have at home.
This ensures that you have the right tools at your disposal to tackle any sewing project with confidence.
The room is furnished with spacious sewing desks, providing ample workspace for comfortable sewing. its light and airy, with additional lamps when needed.
Sockets are plentiful and at desk level for safety, keeping only your pedal cable trailing, which also omits the need to crawl on the floor to plug in your sewing machine,
Various pressing options are available, from the standard Iron and Ironing board, the Ironing press, to small craft irons, we have a sleeve board, a tailors ham, sleeve roll and pressing cloths we've thought of it all,
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced seamstress, our setup is designed to cater to all skill levels.
In addition, we have a range of haberdashery items available for purchase, as well as my personal haberdashery items and equipment available to use, (a small donation is asked for so items can be replenished) ensuring that you have access to the necessary materials for your sewing projects.
We don't generally sell fabric, so you will need to get this in advance, but I do have plenty of scraps for demo's and small projects,
It is recommended you bring your own machine to learn on, this keeps consistency between your lessons and when sewing at home, it must be in good working order, your tutor has a vast knowledge and can trouble shoot many brands and models but she is not a technician, any faults to your machine may disrupt the lesson,
Remember to bring your power cable/ foot Pedal, and your accessories, spare feet, needles ect.
At the training room there is a number of Sewing Machines and an Overlocker that can be used should a machine be faulty, or if you don't yet have your own and would like to try sewing before purchasing your own machine. ask for details.
